We finally got our jewelry section up and running. We have 13 different styles from Milo Productions of New Mexico. Take a look at a couple of our favorites:
Michelle “Milo” Lowden is the proud founder and owner of Milo Productions specializing in hand-painted jewelry, all done with balsa wood. She currently resides on the Pueblo of Acoma Reservation in New Mexico where she runs her jewelry business. The Pueblo of Acoma was established in 1150 A.D. and is known as one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America. Michelle, great granddaughter of well- known potter Marie Z. Chino has been creating jewelry for nearly three years. Michelle has stepped beyond traditional materials, such as clay, while remaining faithful to the precise and intricate nature of Pueblo pottery.
This partnership is all possible thanks to a tip from Americorps VISTA fellow Sarah Lawson–who we interviewed about her work in New Mexico in the following post.
